Welcome to the Campus Exchange Marketplace! To keep our community safe, secure, and fair, please review our ground rules before you start listing your items:
1. The Campus Code of Conduct
You own what you sell: Absolutely no reselling of stolen goods or campus property.
Strictly No Contraband: Posting vapes, alcohol, drugs, or weapons will result in a permanent ban OR an immediate fine of R300.
Buyer Protection & Settlement: For eligible protected card orders, Paystack places a temporary authorization hold on the buyer's card. Campus Exchange does not receive or hold that money. After the buyer inspects and approves the item, a one-time collection code becomes available for you to submit. Paystack then captures the authorized amount, applies the seller and Campus Exchange service-fee split, and processes settlement to your configured payout account.
Payout Details: You must keep the payout details linked to your Paystack seller account accurate and verified. Settlement timing is controlled by Paystack, participating banks, and any compliance or fraud review; there is no Campus Exchange wallet or manual PayShap/EFT withdrawal request.
Safety First (In-Person): We mandate that all physical exchanges happen in safe, public, and well-lit campus areas (e.g., student centers, libraries, cafeterias).
Courier Disputes & Protection: If an item is couriered and the buyer requests a refund, they must provide a continuous, unedited unboxing video to prove the item's condition. This strictly protects you against fraudulent claims.
Zero Tolerance for Scams: Any fraudulent behavior results in an immediate, permanent ban and a potential report to campus authorities.

Buyer Protection
Buyer Protection reduces transaction risk on eligible card orders. It does not guarantee every transaction, so inspect the item before approving it.
1. Authorize with Paystack
Paystack places a temporary hold on your card for the order total. Campus Exchange does not receive or hold this money, although it may be unavailable to spend while the authorization is active.
2. Meet and Inspect
Meet the seller in a safe location, or receive the item, and check that it matches the listing before you approve the transaction.
3. Approve or Report a Problem
If you are satisfied, approve the item in Campus Exchange. A one-time collection code is then made available for the seller. If something is wrong, do not approve it; open a dispute or cancellation request instead.
4. Capture and Split
The seller submits the valid code. Paystack then captures the authorized amount, applies the seller and Campus Exchange fee split, and processes settlement to the seller's configured payout account.
5. Releases and Refunds
Before capture, an approved cancellation releases the card hold. After capture, an eligible refund is sent through Paystack to the original payment method. Your bank controls how long either update takes to appear.
